Individual notes sound a little "wider" on my real grand, richer. It makes a fuller more harmonically complex sound. There's subtle variations in tuning (even though it is freshly tuned), and more more soundboard "bleed".

A little bit of reverb pushes it back just a bit and makes it sit a bit better. Played louder than an acoustic, in my studio, it sounds like a too close mic'd piano played too loud. Played at the same volume as my acoustic grand it is delightful. I ran it through the studio monitors and the Fulcrum PA. The Steinway D is wonderful in the upgrade. Those same layer and morphing capabilities in v7 mean you can make far more sounds from the models you have that you may realize.Wow.
